SAFI works primarily through education, training, and mobilization activities to improve sanitation and livelihoods in rural Kenya. The organization seeks to build the capacity of communities to identify and pursue opportunities for their own development and to use research as a tool for empowerment and social change.
We target youth- and women-led groups in particular as a workable strategy for positively impacting the entire community while strengthening traditionally disenfranchised segments of society.
